Abstract
Objective : This study attempted to confirm the importance of vocational rehabilitation for adults with developmental disabilities and to investigate the effect on vocational rehabilitation performance by applying a occupation-based activity program. Through this, the necessity of linking community-centered rehabilitation-related institutions and developing programs is presented, and it is intended to be used as basic data necessary for building the infrastructure for vocational rehabilitation

Methods : Among the adult developmental disabilities using the Day Care Center for the Disabled, 13 people who wished to participate in the vocational rehabilitation program were subject to the study. A single group pre-post comparison was performed using the Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) by applying a task-based activity program. The data were analyzed using SPSS Ver.25, technical statistics and Wilcoxon, a nonparametric analysis.

Results : To examine the effect of occupation-based intervention programs on occupational rehabilitation of adults with developmental disabilities, three goals were set with the Goal Attainment Scale (GAS), and a pre-post comparison of the intervention program application showed a statistically significant effect on all three goals.

Conclusion : For people with developmental disabilities, vocational rehabilitation and economic activities through it are good strategies to increase life satisfaction while living as a member of the local community. Quantitative and qualitative expansion of professional facilities for vocational rehabilitation for the disabled should be prioritized, but it should be recognized that limited situations need to be supplemented through connection with community-centered institutions and development of various programs
